A Festival Like No Other
A group of University of Texas filmmakers a few years back noticed a need for fellow students to be able to present their work in a risk-free, encouraging environment. They wanted a simple way to give their fellow peers a medium to present their hard work to experienced industry professionals and to build exposure within the film community in Austin. Thus, Jump Cut Film Festival was born, and established through the University Filmmakers' Alliance at the University of Texas at Austin in 1999.
